Missions

United Methodists are disciples of Jesus Christ who continue to heed the lessons John Wesley taught his followers: to live lovingly and justly as servants of Christ by healing the sick, feeding the hungry, caring for the stranger, freeing the oppressed; being a compassionate presence, and working to develop social structures that are consistent with the gospel.

Explore the ways we are serving throughout the world in different ways.

We hope you have had a Blessed Summer and had many chances to see God in those Summer days.

October is MISSION MONTH and a time we look forward to each year to share how God is working through your giving hearts. We will feature one of the Ministries each Sunday during October through which YOU are making a difference. Details to come!

The HUB will continue to collect school supplies.  The back to school sales, are still out there so help us to help those in need:  scissors, paper, pencil sharpeners, pencils, rulers, ink pens, erasers and crayons (or colored pencils/markers), Elmer’s glue, glue sticks.

Mission Central has added additional items that they are including in the program:

Backpacks, lunch boxes, New underwear & socks (male/female, sized for K thru 12th grade), feminine hygiene products (all types), laundry detergent, tissues, paper towels & deodorant.

**a list of all items is available on the Mission Hutch in the lobby**

More Mission Opportunities:

1.     If you are cleaning out your closet and have shoes you no longer need, please consider donating them. Mission Central collects them for international micro-enterprise programs; small businesses such as repair shops, small shops or individuals able to sell shoes to provide income for their families leading to economic stability.  Please place these items in the bin next to the Mission Hutch in the lobby.

2.     Donate any medical equipment no longer needed (i.e., walkers, canes, wheelchairs, knee scooters, etc.). Mission Central works to be sure anyone in need of medical items will have access - at NO COST.  Please place these items near the Coat Rack with a note: 'Medical Supplies for MC.

If you have a HEART for missions and serving God's people, join the Mission Team.

We welcome extra hands and new ideas and ways we can be the Heart, Hands and Feet of Jesus.

Thank you and God Bless,
Fawn Mission/HUB Team

Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.                                                                              Philippians 2:3-4
