2008 Planning Session
Together the leaders of our church took a look at our past, present and future. We set up a history timeline that you have seen on the wall in the church lobby. Please feel free to add to it. We clebrate our spiritual life together at Fawn Church and build upon the history that gives us our foundation.
We are encouraged to answer God's call to be faithful servants. We looked for ways that might help us to fulfill our mission of being disciples of Jesus Christ. Most of all we were energized and excited about the life of our church and our passion for God was rekindled.
We looked at the grace of God and how that word might help us to focus our vision for 2008.
GRACE
G - glorify God - worship
R - Reach our to the community and world - missions
A - accept and assimilate people into the life of the church - evangelism
C - caring for the congregation - nurture
E - educate disciples - SS, VBS, Bible Study
Won't you help us to live in God's GRACE!
We prayed this prayer during our session -
Gracious Lord,
By your Holy Spirit, grant us:
Worship that draws us close to you,
Witness that feeds those who hunger and thirst,
Healing that offers hope to the broken,
Discipleship that makes us like Christ, and
Stewardship that invests resources and ourselves in your kingdom, In Christ's name we pray, Amen.
May we all pray this prayer and ask for God's help in our endeavors.
